Jackson out 4-6 weeks

PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson has a broken left hand, leaving his status uncertain for the season opener.
Jackson was wearing a cast while watching practice Monday and says he'll be out four to six weeks. He says he landed on his hand while being tackled on the second play of a 42-17 loss at Washington in an exhibition game Friday.
Jackson hopes to be ready for the Sept. 12 opener against Miami. That would put him right on schedule for his return.
Marshawn Lynch split the starting duties with Jackson last season. Lynch did not practice Monday and is out indefinitely after hurting his ankle Friday.
The Bills host the Indianapolis Colts in an NFL exhibition game in Toronto on Thursday.
