DETROIT -- Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew has been fined US$25,000 by the NFL for abusive conduct toward an official in Sunday's game at New Orleans.

The league also says receiver Nate Burleson was fined $7,500 for grabbing a Saints player by the face mask, and returner Stefan Logan was fined $7,500 for flipping the football to an opponent.

Pettigrew has apologized for his actions in the game. He was called for a personal foul in the fourth quarter of Detroit's 31-17 loss in New Orleans. Pettigrew made contact with an official who was trying to get between him and Saints safety Roman Harper after the whistle.

Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will miss Sunday's game to serve the second of his two-game suspension for stomping on an opponent.
