Report: Rams choose new OC
Brian Schottenheimer will be the new offensive co-ordinator for the St. Louis Rams, according to a report from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Schottenheimer had been the New York Jets' offensive co-ordinator since 2006. He will be the second prominent assistant coach to join Jeff Fisher's staff in St. Louis after the Rams named Gregg Williams their defensive co-ordinator last week.
He resigned from the Jets after the team missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008. The son of former NFL coach Marty Schottenheimer was a popular target for criticism in New York last season after the Jets finished 29th in total offence and Mark Sanchez took a step back in his development.
Schottenheimer will be Sam Bradford's third offensive co-ordinator in three years.
The Rams went 2-14 in 2011 and will have the No. 2 pick in the upcoming draft.
