Tyree: From Super Bowl hero to...

He made one of the most memorable catches in Super Bowl history and then never caught another NFL pass again.

Whatever became of former New York Giants Super Bowl hero David Tyree? Currently he is working from home in marketing and philanthropy for a wealth-management firm, but last summer he was deluged with critics after he appeared in a video opposing same-sex marriage.

"I don't value marketability -- I value the honor of my God,'' he told USA Today. "When you talk about this being a (nation) where everybody is entitled to their opinion… (but) the moment you say something that goes against what is relevant to our culture, all of a sudden you are (called) a bigot. I got tons of flak, but I expected that."

Four years ago, when the Giants pulled off their dramatic upset of the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, Tyree out-jumped Patriots safety Rodney Harrison, pinning the football against his helmet and coming down with the winning score for perhaps the most memorable catch in Super Bowl history.

Tyree would spend the next season on injured reserve and eventually be cut on the final day of the season. He's still only 32 years old and says he is at peace with the fact that his career stumbled after the catch.

"As great as that catch was -- as great as that moment was -- I knew I wasn't going to have a moment that eclipsed that," Tyree said to the paper. "It gave me a sense of peace as far as moving on."
