Gisele Bundchen is used to making headlines for her looks, not for her words.
But the supermodel wife of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will get plenty of ink Monday for her comments following her husband’s 21-17 loss Sunday to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI.
As she was walking down a hallway at Lucas Oil Stadium after the game with some wives of other Patriots players, a fan yelled out to Bundchen, “Eli rules!” followed by, “Eli owns your husband!”
Without missing a beat, and with cameras surrounding her, Bundchen snapped back:
“You (have) to catch the ball when you’re supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot (bleeping) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.”
The Patriots might have prevailed on Sunday if not for critical dropped passes by receiver Wes Welker and tight end Aaron Hernandez.
For his part, Brady refused to assign any blame to his teammates following the loss.
