The Breakdown: Every Canadian drafted into the NFL since 1966

Get the stats for Sportsnet.ca's top 5 NFL prospects.

The 2017 NFL Draft gets under way Thursday night in Philadelphia, and a number of Canadians are hoping to be among the 224 players taken off the board.

If a Canuck does hear his name called, he’ll be joining a relatively exclusive club. Since 1966 — a period of time considered the Super Bowl Era — there have been 58 players from north of the border selected in the NFL Draft.

In each of the last six years a minimum of one Canadian has been chosen in the NFL Draft, which ties the record for the longest streak ever. The other run on Canadians took place between 1979 and 1984, and back then the draft lasted 12 rounds.

Right now, Mississippi State offensive lineman and Montreal native Justin Senior seems like a sure bet to get drafted and help set a new mark.
