TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have revealed a redesigned uniform, part of a new look for next season.

The team announced Monday that the base uniform colour has a richer looking pewter, juxtaposed with a brighter shade of “Buccaneer Red.” It also has a “Bay Orange” as a new primary trim colour, which reflects the Buccaneers’ early uniforms.

Tampa Bay is the first NFL franchise to incorporate a reflective chrome border around the numbers on the front, back and shoulders.

The Buccaneers previously announced an enlarged helmet logo, which still features a red battle flag with a skull sitting over crossed swords and a football.

It is Tampa Bay’s first redesign since 1997, when the Bucs stopped wearing creamsicle orange jerseys and a helmet bearing the image of a winking pirate.
