Cowboys place Ratliff on PUP list with injury

A four-time Pro Bowl pick, Ratliff is joining a struggling defensive line. He also is getting a fresh start after being released by Dallas in mid-October.

OXNARD, Calif. — The Dallas Cowboys have placed defensive tackle Jay Ratliff and guard Mackenzy Bernadeau on the physically unable to perform list after both sustained hamstring injuries in conditioning tests before training camp.

Ratliff, Bernadeau and guard Nate Livings were sidelined for the first camp workouts Sunday. Livings was placed on the non-football injury list with a foot problem.

All three are projected starters.

Ratliff passed the conditioning test despite the injury. Bernadeau still has to get through the test to be cleared.

The Cowboys signed offensive tackle Demetress Bell and wide receiver Lavasier Tuinei and placed them on the non-football injury list. Dallas also signed quarterback Alex Tanney of Monmouth.

Offensive lineman Ryan Cook, deep snapper Louis-Philippe Ladouceur (LAH’-doo-sahr) and guard Ronald Leary also were placed on the non-football injury list.
