MIAMI — Rookie running back Jay Ajayi has been activated by the Miami Dolphins and could make his NFL debut Sunday at Buffalo.

He had been on the reserve injured-designated for return list. To make room on the roster, the team waived centre Sam Brenner on Saturday.

Ajayi missed the Dolphins’ first seven games because of a chest injury. He’s a fifth-round draft choice from Boise State. Last year he became the first player in FBS history to gain at least 1,800 yards rushing and 500 receiving in a season.
