EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning will replace injured Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the Pro Bowl.

With the NFL’s announcement Friday, Manning will join teammate Odell Beckham Jr. as the Giants’ representatives in Hawaii for the all-star game on Jan. 31. It’s Manning’s fourth Pro Bowl selection, and the third time he will play in the game.

Manning set franchise records with 618 pass attempts and 387 completions while throwing a career-high 35 touchdown passes, one shy of the team mark set by Hall of Famer Y.A. Tittle in 1963.

The league earlier announced that Beckham will be one of four Pro Bowl captains. Beckham and Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald will captain one team, while Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman and Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Geno Atkins will captain the other.
