Colin Kaepernick will get the start at quarterback on Sunday when his San Francisco 49ers travel to Buffalo to take on the surging Bills as 8-point betting underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Kaepernick takes over from Blaine Gabbert, who has tossed six total interceptions in four consecutive straight-up losses that have left San Francisco with a 1-4 record going into Sunday afternoon’s 49ers vs. Bills betting matchup at New Era Field.
San Francisco ranks 31st in team offence, leaving it unclear whether Kaepernick can turn things around. The 28-year-old struggled while starting eight contests for the 49ers last season, leading the club to a 2-6 SU record, 3-5 ATS, with the team scoring seven or fewer points in four of those outings.
Conversely, Buffalo has rebounded from a pair of brutal losses to start the season, winning three straight, SU and ATS, including a pair of outright wins as a betting underdog. However, the Bills have struggled in recent clashes with San Francisco, going 1-3 SU and ATS in their past four meetings, scoring just six total points over those three defeats.
The New England Patriots, meanwhile, will be looking to stay ahead of the Bills in the AFC East standings as they take on the Cincinnati Bengals as 9-point favourites on the NFL point spreads. The Patriots moved to 4-1 SU with a lopsided 33-13 win in Cleveland last week, which marked the return of star pivot Tom Brady.
With Brady back at the helm, the Patriots have solidified their position as Super Bowl favourites, sporting +350 odds. New England is also unbeaten SU in six home dates with the Bengals, who are 1-3 SU and ATS in their past four games, including a pair of road losses.
Over in the NFC, the Green Bay Packers look to gain ground on idle Minnesota when they host the streaking Dallas Cowboys as 4-point betting favourites. The 3-1 Packers are unbeaten in two, but continue to trail the unbeaten Vikings in the NFC North standings.
The Cowboys ride a four-game SU win streak and are unbeaten ATS this season, but they have lost five straight to Green Bay while going 1-4 ATS.
In other NFL Week 6 action, the Los Angeles Rams visit the Detroit Lions as 3-point underdogs, and the Browns look to end an eight-game SU losing streak when they visit the Tennessee Titans as 7-point underdogs.
As well, first place in the AFC South will be on the line when the Houston Texans host the Indianapolis Colts as 3-point favourites on Sunday night, while the Arizona Cardinals battle the New York Jets as 7.5-point chalk under the lights on Monday night.
