The Buffalo Bills will try to maintain their lead atop the AFC East standings with a third straight upset victory when they visit the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday as 3-point underdogs on the Week 5 NFL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Buffalo improved to 3-1 on the season with last week’s stunning 23-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons as 8-point road underdogs to remain undefeated against the spread going into Sunday afternoon’s matchup.

It has been nine years since Buffalo entered Week 5 leading the division standings. The Bills have built their success on a stingy defense which has surrendered just 13.5 points per game, resulting in a 3-1 run for the UNDER in totals betting.

Buffalo’s early-season success has had a dramatic impact on its Super Bowl odds, which have vaulted to +5000 from their position at +10000 just one week ago, with a victory over the Bengals likely to further strengthen the club’s position on those NFL futures.

The Bills tallied a 16-12 win in Cincinnati as 2.5-point underdogs last season, but face a Bengals squad that ended a three-game straight-up slide with last week’s lopsided 31-7 win in Cleveland as 3-point chalk and has taken three of four from Buffalo both SU and ATS.

Elsewhere, the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs could have their hands full when they visit the Houston Texans as slim 1-point chalk in a Sunday Night Football matchup. The 5-0 Chiefs remained the lone undefeated team in the NFL with last week’s 29-20 win over Washington as 6.5-point home favourites, and ride an eight-game SU win streak on the road.

However, Kansas City will have to contain a Texans offense led by rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson that romped to a 57-14 win over Tennessee last week as 2.5-point home underdogs, and has now scored 90 total points over their past two outings.

Watson threw for four touchdowns and rushed for a fifth in Houston’s biggest win in five years, and has now moved past Kansas City rusher Kareem Hunt as the favourite to emerge as this year’s offensive rookie of the year with short -150 odds.

In other NFL Week 5 betting action, the Los Angeles Rams host Seattle as narrow 1-point home chalk, marking the first time they are favoured in a date with the Seahawks since 2011.

As well, the Oakland Raiders will be without injured quarterback Derek Carr as they host the Baltimore Ravens as 2.5-point favourites, while the New York Giants host the Los Angeles Chargers as 3.5-point chalk in a battle of 0-4 squads.
