The Buffalo Bills will try to gain ground on the idle New England Patriots in the AFC East standings this weekend when they entertain the visiting New York Giants as five-point betting favourites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Bills enter Week 4 trailing New England by a game in the AFC East, and picked up momentum last weekend in their quest to earn their first post-season berth since 1999 by demolishing the Dolphins 41-14 in Miami, earning the against the spread victory as one-point underdogs.

The win was Buffalo’s fourth straight as an underdog, but they enter Sunday afternoon’s Giants versus Bills betting matchup at Ralph Wilson Stadium winless straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) in their last two as betting chalk, while going 3-5 SU, 2-6 ATS, in their last eight.

The Giants ended a three-game SU losing skid last weekend, manhandling the Washington Redskins 32-21 as three-point chalk. New York also rides a three-game ATS win streak on the road, 2-1 SU, and is 3-0 ATS in its last three as underdogs by 4.5 or more points.

Sunday marks the Giants’ first visit to Western New York in almost eight years, however they have enjoyed historical success, going 3-1 SU and 4-0 ATS in their last four.

The Green Bay Packers will be looking to stay undefeated when they travel to the Bay Area to battle the San Francisco 49ers as strong eight-point favourites this week. The Packers improved to 4-0 on the season with a dominant 38-28 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night, powered by Aaron Rodgers’ five touchdown passes.

Rodgers and the Packers have handed bettors mixed results in recent road contests, going 5-5 SU and ATS in their past 10 away from Lambeau Field, but are a solid 7-1 SU, 6-2 ATS, in their last eight as road chalk according to the OddsShark NFL Database.

In other NFL Week 4 betting action, the Detroit Lions will continue searching for their first SU win of the season when they take on the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football as nine-point underdogs.

The Lions ride a five-game SU losing slide into Week 4, and are 4-10 ATS in their last 14, while the Seahawks looked to have turned the corner with their 26-0 beating of Chicago last week, claiming their first SU win of the season and ending a three-game SU and ATS losing streak.

The Philadelphia Eagles are solid three-point road favourites against the Redskins, while the Indianapolis Colts are perched as early nine-point favourites over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
