The Detroit Lions will be vying for their first win of the season on Sunday when they welcome the Arizona Cardinals to town as 2.5-point betting underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Lions continued their current streak of futility on Monday night with a controversial 13-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks to fall to 0-4 and extend their straight-up losing streak to six games.

The Detroit offence failed to gain any traction against the Seahawks, picking up just 12 first downs on the night, and 256 total yards, including a mere 53 yards on the ground.

Detroit has now scored just 12.7 points per game over their last three outings entering Sunday afternoon’s Cardinals versus Lions betting matchup at Ford Field.

Conversely, the Cardinals busted out of the gate this season, scoring 42 points per game in their first three contests, but cooled down considerably in a 24-22 upset loss to the St. Louis Rams, scoring just one touchdown while taking home their first straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) loss of the season as seven-point home chalk.

Arizona has produced mixed results against the Lions, recording SU wins in each of their last six overall meetings, 5-1 ATS, but are just 1-3 SU in their last four visits to the Motor City, 0-4 ATS, according to the OddsShark NFL Database.

The Buffalo Bills are also looking to rebound following a discouraging 24-10 home loss to the New York Giants, visiting the Tennessee Titans on Sunday as 2.5-point road favourites.

Buffalo’s hallmark inconsistency has carried over into the 2015 campaign, with the club alternating between SU wins and losses over their past nine. However, they have been strong at the sportsbooks, going 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games.

The 1-2 Titans have shown new promise under the gridiron leadership of quarterback Marcus Mariota, who has tossed eight touchdowns in Tennessee’s three outings but has also been sacked 12 times this season and will have his hands full against a ferocious Bills defensive line.

In other NFL Week 5 betting action, the Seahawks face yet another tough opponent when they visit the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals as three-point underdogs.

The Bengals roughed up the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend, notching a 36-21 win for their fourth straight SU and ATS victory, and are 2-1 SU and 2-0-1 ATS in their last three against Seattle but have just one SU home win against the Seahawks since 1988.

The New York Giants host the San Francisco 49ers as seven-point chalk on Sunday night, while the Monday Night Football matchup features the San Diego Chargers as three-point home favourites over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
