With the passing of Buffalo Bills’ owner Ralph Wilson last month, the sale of the team has become a hot topic throughout the NFL and Jon Bon Jovi’s name has once again entered the conversation.

Bon Jovi is part of a Toronto-based group expected to make a bid on the team, according to Jon Kryk of the Toronto Sun.

"Jon remains passionate in his pursuit of an NFL franchise," Ken Sunshine, Bon Jovi’s publicist, said.

Reports of the rocker’s interest in purchasing the team from western New York first surfaced last November, but Bon Jovi denied any interest at the time.

Bon Jovi reportedly has major ties to Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment CEO Tim Leiweke, who spent considerable time with AEG trying to bring an NFL team to Los Angeles. In Leiweke’s first year with MLSE, the company hung a banner for the rock star at the Air Canada Centre.

Wilson passed away on March 25 at the age of 95 and the team confirmed last week that members of Wilson’s family who took control of the team intend on selling. Wilson owned the club since its inception in 1960.
