Contrary to earlier reports, it’s looking like Tony Romo will not be released by the Dallas Cowboys but will, instead, be traded.
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the Cowboys expect to move the veteran quarterback in a trade with either the Denver Broncos or Houston Texans.
Romo has spent his entire 13-year NFL career with the Cowboys after signing with them as an undrafted free agent in 2003.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Romo has thrown for 34,183 yards with 248 touchdowns to 117 interceptions for his career.
The combination of a back injury that kept the 36-year-old sidelined for the first 10 games of last season, in addition to the emergence of rookie quarterback Dak Prescott saw Romo make just four pass attempts in 2016.
