In the wake of rumours surrounding Dirk Koetter’s future in Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers have informed the 58-year-old that he will be brought back next season, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

There had been some uncertainty about Koetter’s job security after the Buccaneers answered high expectations with a disappointing 2017 season in which they have just four wins through 15 games heading into the last weekend of the regular season.

However, the Buccaneers appear to be choosing stability over yet another change on the sidelines. Koetter is Tampa Bay’s fourth coach since Jon Gruden was fired following the 2008 season.

The Buccaneers are 13-18 during Koetter’s two seasons as head coach.
