Herschel Walker believes he could make a return to the NFL at the tender age of 53.
It’s time for the former running back to put his money where his mouth is as Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn has reportedly invited Walker to attend the team’s training camp.
“He’s one of my all-time favourite players,” Quinn told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Yeah, we have room for him.”
Walker enjoyed a fair amount of success at the pro level, but truly made his mark with the University of Georgia, where he won the Heisman Trohpy in 1982 as the nation’s top player. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999.
Over his 12-year NFL career, Walker amassed over 13,000 yards from scrimmage, racking up 82 touchdowns.
Walker also briefly dabbled in mixed martial arts where he posted a 2-0 record.
