The National Football League is a billion-dollar operation with its sights set on eventually hitting $25 billion in profit annually.

It looks like it may have found a small way to accomplish this goal.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the NFL is looking to further cash in on the Super Bowl by asking artists under consideration for the gig to pay them, despite the fact that the league itself doesn’t normally pay the performer.

The NFL has narrowed its list of possible Super Bowl XLIX acts down to Rihanna, Katy Perry and Coldplay, the report says. While notifying each artist’s camps of their candidacy, NFL representatives also asked if they would be willing to contribute part of their post-Super Bowl tour to the league, of if they would make some other monetary contribution, for the right to perform at the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl XLIX is scheduled to be played outdoors on Feb. 1, 2015 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
