Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson is facing a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL performance-enhancing substances policy, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Johnson reportedly plans to appeal the ban.

The violation would be the second of Johnson’s three-year career, as the 26-year-old was suspended for the first four games of the 2014 season for a PED violation.

Johnson has reportedly denied that he violated the league’s PED policy, telling FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer that an approved amino acid triggered the positive test.

Johnson has quickly emerged as the team’s most important offensive lineman and signed a six-year, $66.1 million extension in January. With Matt Tobin currently filling in an injured Jason Peters on the left side, Philadelphia could be extremely thin at the position should Johnson miss the team’s first 10 contests.

Drafted fourth overall in the 2013 draft out of Oklahoma, Johnson has started 44 games for the Eagles over the last three seasons, mostly at right tackle.
