Steelers’ Villanueva has best-selling NFL jersey in last 24 hours

Villanueva, pictured above, was the only Steelers player present for the national anthem. The rest of the team waited in the tunnel.

Following a hectic weekend in the NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva reportedly has the best-selling jersey in the league since Sunday, according to Fanatics (h/t ESPN’s Darren Rovell).

Villanueva, who served on three separate tours of duty in Afghanistan as an Army Ranger, was the only Steelers player who participated in the national anthem ahead of their game against the Chicago Bears.

The West Point graduate has been a key pillar in the Steelers’ offensive line since 2015. Villanueva started all 16 games in the 2016 regular season, and has played in all 35 over the past three years.
