Did you know that Tim Tebow is planning an NFL comeback?
Did you care?
Well, he is—and that means you’re likely to hear (and see) reports on it in the coming weeks. We promise to do it just this once, and then leave you in blessed peace.
The fact that your humble author’s attempt to make an NFL roster has about the same chance of success as Tebow’s endeavour matters not. For these are, you see, the dog days of summer. And in the dog days of summer, a recognizable name matters more than that name’s actual impact on the field of play. Tim Tebow, you may recall from blanket coverage of his failed attempt to become a New England Patriot, is something of a recognizable name.
And yes, we realize we are party to this simply by writing this story—but really we just wanted a chance to show you exactly how Tebow is advertising his comeback attempt. It’s kind of worth a look.
Here he is, working out really, really hard. As though the reason he didn’t last in the NFL was that he just wasn’t trying hard enough in practice, or wasn’t quite in good enough shape.
That, by the way, is Tim Tebow playing beach volleyball—or a version thereof—with a 10-pound heavy ball.
You’ll notice some of those throws are off-target, too. The more things change…
Anyway, good luck, Timmy.
