NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans could enter Sunday’s game at Houston without either of their starting offensive tackles.
Neither Taylor Lewan nor Michael Oher has practiced all week. Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt says both will be game-time decisions.
"We’ve still got two days," Whisenhunt said. "We’ve got another day tomorrow, where we’ll do a little practice. They’ve been paying attention in the walk-throughs. I think it’s probably going to come down to a game-day decision for both of those two."
Both are listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report for the week.
Lewan sprained an ankle Sunday in a 43-24 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, while Oher has a toe injury. If Lewan and Oher are unable to play, backups Will Svitek and Byron Stingily would get the call. Tennessee already is without starting centre Brian Schwenke, who was placed on injured reserve this week with a knee injury.
"If I’m able to play, and I can affect this team in a positive manner, then I don’t see why I wouldn’t have the opportunity to be successful," Lewan said of possibly playing without practicing.
Oher has played in 91 consecutive regular-season games.
"I’ll just have to see what else I can do to get out there on the field," Oher said. "It’s gotten better with constant treatment, and it feels better today. I’ve been banged up before, and I’ve still found a way to get out there."
On defence, the Titans ruled out linebacker Kamerion Wimbley with a hamstring injury.
Safety Michael Griffin (shoulder) returned to practice Friday and said he expects to play. He is listed as questionable. Safety Marqueston Huff (hamstring) also is questionable after practicing on a limited basis.
Cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson (back) and running backs Dexter McCluster (concussion) and Leon Washington (hamstring) are probable.
