NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans have fired vice-president of player personnel Lake Dawson and streamlined their football administration.

The Titans announced the moves Friday.

General manager Ruston Webster also announced that both Blake Beddingfield, the Titans’ director of college scouting, and Brian Gardner, their pro scouting co-ordinator, will report directly to him.

Webster says in a statement it was not an easy decision but will help the Titans tighten both their college and pro operations. He says the Titans will not hire a new vice-president of player personnel.

A wide receiver who played six years in the NFL, Dawson had been with the Titans since 2007, starting as director of pro personnel before being promoted to vice-president of football operations in 2011.
