J.J. Watt has not slowed in his efforts to aid those affected by Hurricane Harvey, and the Houston Texans star is now helping deliver a full warehouse of supplies to the people of Houston.
Watt’s YouCaring page, set up to accept donations that he asserted would go directly to those in need, has now climbed well above the $17-million mark – a significant jump from his original $200,000 fundraising goal.
The Waukesha, Wisc. native gave an update on what he and his volunteer team have put together as that total continues to climb, and the results are staggering.
“This is what it looks like when volunteers come together,” Watt said in a video posted to his Twitter account on Saturday. “Thank you to everybody who supported, thank you to everyone who’s helped.
Watt and his team filled up nine semi trucks with supplies to be donated to those in need on Sunday.
“I just want to make sure you guys see what’s going on, and make sure you know that this stuff is going directly to the people of Houston.”
