The List: Canadian tennis stars

Montreal’s Aleksandra Wozniak became the first Quebec woman to win a WTA singles title when she captured the Bank of the West Classic in 2008. It was also the first championship for a Canadian woman since Kelesi won in 1988, ending a two-decade drought. Wozniak was seeded 24th at the 2009 French Open and advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to Serena Williams. Her 2010 season was cut short by a forearm injury but the 23-year-old is now back on the court, hoping to break into the top 20.
