CAMBRIDGE, Ont. – Canadian stars Brooke Henderson and Alena Sharp and top-ranked Lydia Ko will headline the field of the upcoming Manulife LPGA Classic.

Defending champion Suzann Pettersen and stars Stacy Lewis and Brittany Lang are also in the field of 150 golfers for the tournament, which runs from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4 at Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge.

Teenagers Ko and Henderson, respectively first and second in the Rolex world rankings, have each claimed a major title this year and lead a new wave of LPGA stars.

"Both Ko and Henderson have accomplished so much at such young ages," tournament director Milaina Wright said in a statement. "I’m excited to see what they will do when we welcome them back to the Manulife LPGA Classic.

"It’s likely with this strong field of contenders that the fans will also be watching some newly minted medal winners from the Rio Olympics."

Sharp, from Hamilton, has been named to Canada’s Olympic golf team and is expected to be joined by Henderson, who hails from Smiths Falls, Ont.
