PGA’s Watson shows off hovercraft golf cart

Don’t you just hate it when your hovercraft is in the shop for a tuneup and you’re forced to walk 18 holes?

Wait… what do you mean you don’t have a hovercraft?

Well, sit back and live vicariously through PGA golfer Bubba Watson for a minute because he unveiled a custom hovercraft golf cart, which will undoubtedly be the coolest vehicle you’ll see on the course this year.

“Golf carts have looked the same, been the same (forever),” Watson said. “You’ve got to stay 30 yards from the green, you’ve got to stay on the cart path when it’s raining. But let’s have fun. Let’s go through the water hazard, come off the other side right by the green, put your ball and then you can drive right back across the water hazard. Who doesn’t want to do that?”

Judging by how fun this looks it could be a trend that has a chance to catch on, and Watson agrees.

“I see a lot of stares, a lot of laughs, and then (people) actually see how efficient it is. I think it’s really going to get a lot more people involved. They’re going to want to just drive the hovercraft and not play golf, but that’s how I got started – driving a gold cart and golf got in the way.”
