Four golfers sit ahead of the pack on the odds to win the British Open at Royal Troon this week, with Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, and Jordan Spieth set as the betting favourites for the major tournament at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Johnson holds down top odds for the tournament at +650 (wager $100 to win $650) at the sportsbooks, after he picked up his first victory in a major by claiming the U.S. Open title in June. Overall, Johnson has finished in the top 10 in a major tournament 12 times, with five of those results coming in the past two seasons. Johnson, though, hasn’t managed a top-10 finish at the British Open since 2012, when he tied for ninth place at the tournament.

Day is at +800 on the British Open odds , and has also earned a dozen top-10 finishes at major tournaments in his career along with a single victory – at last year’s PGA Championship. Day has finished 10th or better in each of his last five major tournaments.

McIlroy and Spieth are then listed at +1000 on the odds to win the British Open this week, with McIlroy the winner of four majors in his career including the 2014 British Open. Spieth’s two major victories came last year in the Masters and the U.S. Open and he has six top-10 results at majors compared to McIroy’s 13. Spieth had finished first, first, fourth, second, and second in consecutive majors until he had a 37th-place result at this year’s U.S. Open.

Along with McIlroy, other past British Open winners in the field this week include Zach Johnson (2015), Phil Mickelson (2013), and Louis Oosthuizen (2010). Of that group Mickelson has the top odds to win the tournament this week at +2800, with Oosthuizen at +4000, and Johnson at +5000. The last time the British Open was played at Royal Troon in 2004 it was Todd Hamilton that came away with the unexpected win; in his 11 appearances at the British Open since getting that major victory Hamilton has missed the cut eight times.

Meanwhile, the British Open props for this week have Johnson, Day, McIlroy, and Spieth combined at +150 vs. The Field at -190. Johnson and Day alone vs. The Field is at +375. Johnson is also the +325 favourite to be the top American at the tournament over Spieth (+400), while Day is a clear -110 favourite to be the top Australian over Adam Scott (+250).
