It was at the 2000 Canadian Open at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ont., where Tiger Woods made what many consider to be one of the greatest shots ever.

A young Woods was closing in on his ninth victory of the year and put himself in a tough position on the last hole of the tournament, sending his tee shot on the par-5 18th sailing right of the fairway and into a bunker.

But Woods saved himself by striking the ball cleanly from the sand and over the water hazard just off the back of the green.

Tiger went on to win the tournament by a stroke.

Ahead of this year’s tournament, fellow American golfer Harold Varner III attempted to recreate the famous shot.

The 26-year-old humorously watched a video of Tiger’s memorable shot before doing his best to duplicate it during Wednesday’s practice round.

The shot was great, but Varner’s reaction to it may have been even better.
