Man of the moment Rory McIlroy and the legendary Tiger Woods appeared together on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to talk golf and promote Nike’s new Vapor iron line.
The trio also partook in a game called ‘Facebreakers’, where Fallon and McIlroy took turns chipping golf balls at glass panels painted with their faces while Woods coached Jimmy against Rory.
It wasn’t the first time on a talk show for either golfer, as both made their respective small-screen debuts at a young age.
Below is a video of an eight-year old McIlroy chipping golf balls into a washing machine on an Irish talk show.
In the clip, a young McIlroy tells the host that he practiced chipping balls from a long hallway into his mother’s washer. He also displays an impressive ability to perform keep ups with a ball.
Incredibly, Woods appeared on a talk show at an even earlier age, making his debut when he appeared on the Mike Douglas show at the age of two.
Many avid golf fans feel like the proverbial ‘torch’ bas been passed from Woods to McIlroy as the game’s premier talent.
The 38-year-old Woods has won 14 major championships. McIlroy, 25, has picked up steam lately and has won the last two majors — giving him four at a nascent stage of his career. Only Jack Nicklaus and Woods had won four majors by this point in their careers.
