Halifax is the ideal location to celebrate the 15th anniversary of this special event.”
“Scotiabank is excited to partner with Rogers to bring Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada to Canadians across the country and, this year, to the people and communities of Halifax,” said Craig Thompson, Scotiabank Senior Vice President of Atlantic Region. “Hockey has a special way of bringing our community together, whether it is catching games at the newly named Scotiabank Centre here in Halifax or playing on local rinks and ponds across our province. Scotiabank supports hockey at all levels, from the NHL to the community level with our support of over 5,000 minor hockey teams across the country. We believe it is important to have a team to believe in and we’re looking forward to celebrating the sportsmanship and teamwork of this great sport in Halifax in 2015.”
“This is fantastic news for hockey-mad Halifax” said Mayor Mike Savage. “With locally-grown heroes like Nathan MacKinnon and Sidney Crosby, and championship teams like the Halifax Mooseheads, Halifax is a natural home for Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada.
