Sportsnet.ca - Mike Keenan may be interested in adding an important piece from his Stanley Cup winning past to his current Calgary Flames. The piece? Alexei Kovalev. The price? Alex Tanguay.

As discussed in Thursday's Calgary Sun, the Flames may be considering a deal with the Montreal Canadiens to bring Kovalev to Calgary. Kovalev was on Keenan's 1994 Cup-winning Rangers team and he recently criticized head coach Guy Carbonneau.

In response to the rumours, Tanguay, who has a no-trade clause, said he would not spend any time following it.

"I'm not planning on wasting any time on that at all," he said. "I'm here with the Flames, and I think when they brought me here they wanted me to help the team, and as far as I know, it's still the plan."

"I'm very happy where I'm at. Who wouldn't want to be playing on a line with Jarome Iginla and Craig Conroy and on a team that's got Miikka Kiprusoff in net?"
