Sportsnet.ca -- The Maple Leafs welcomed two familiar faces back to the practice ice in New Jersey on Friday as both Mark Bell and Kyle Wellwood skated with the team.
The Leafs also announced that Vesa Toskala will start in net versus the Devils. Toskala lasted just 14 minutes in his last start, allowing four goals on 13 shots against Washington.
Bell is accompanying his Maple Leaf teammates on the road for the final two games of his 15-game suspension, but isn't eligible to return to action until Tuesday in Ottawa.
"There's light at the end of the tunnel," Bell said after practice on Thursday. "For me, it's about ramping up the practices a little bit. And getting in the game."
Bell was the second player involved in the summer trade that saw Toskala arrive in town from San Jose. Last season with the Sharks Bell scored 11 goals in 71 games.
As for Wellwood, the centre has yet to play in a regular season game this season. Wellwood also missed 33 games last season with a sports hernia.
The Leafs and Devils first meeting in the brand new Prudential Center can be seen on Rogers Sportsnet Ontario (Leafs region only). Pre-game analysis starts at 7 p.m. ET.
