Sportnset.ca -- Jason Spezza was the only Ottawa Senators player not on the ice for practice Wednesday morning, meaning he will likely miss his fifth straight game at home against the Washington Capitals on Thursday.

Spezza originally hurt his groin during a skating drill in practice on October 30.

He leads the Senators with 12 assists in 10 games this season.

On Tuesday night Otttawa hammered the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-1 to improve to 13-1-0, making the Senators the fastest to 13 wins of any team in NHL history.

Sportsnet.ca's Ian Mendes has learned Ray Emery will start in goal for the Senators.
