New York Islanders goaltender Rick DiPietro did not accompany the team to Ottawa for Thursday night's game against the Senators at Scotiabank Place.

After morning evaluations on DiPietro's knee injury, the Islanders have listed their star netminder as day-to-day.

Wade Dubielewicz, who has appeared in just five games this season, will start in net for the Islanders this evening. The club has recalled netminder Joey MacDonald from the AHL farm club in Bridgeport to serve as the back-up in Ottawa.

DiPietro is a big reason why the Islanders are sitting in a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference right now. In 33 games, he has posted a 16-13-2 record with a 2.47 GAA.
