Centre Kyle Wellwood accepted the Vancouver Canucks qualifying offer of a one-year, $997,500 deal on Tuesday.
The Canucks claimed the 25-year old off waivers on June 25 from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In 59 games last season, the often-injured Wellwood scored eight goals and 13 assists.
NOTES: Vancouver sports radio station Team 1040 also reported the Canucks signed forward Ryan Johnson to a two-year, $2.4-million deal.
