ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Teemu Selanne will be at the Anaheim Ducks training camp even though he's yet to sign a contract for the upcoming season.
The Finnish winger agreed to a pro tryout agreement with the team on Friday so that he could be on the ice when the Ducks start skating over the weekend.
Selanne has been participating in on-ice workouts over the past couple weeks and is likely to sign a contract with the Ducks before the regular season starts next month.
The NHL team will have to make a move to get beneath the US$56.7-million salary cap before that.
The 38-year-old Selanne missed the start of last season while considering retirement before returning in February. He had 12 goals and 23 points in 26 games.
Over 1,067 career regular-season games with Winnipeg, San Jose, Colorado and Anaheim, he has 552 goals and 1,158 points.
