GOTHENBURG, Sweden -- The Ottawa Senators held their first practice in Sweden on Monday and coach Craig Hartsburg was quick to put Daniel Alfredsson back on the big line with forward Dany Heatley and centre Jason Spezza.
The Senators are practising this week in Alfredsson's home town of Gothenburg, Sweden, the country's second largest city behind Stockholm, the nation's capital
Ottawa will play an exhibition game on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET against Frolunda HC Goteborg at the Scandinavium Arena in Gothenburg.
Following that, the Sens open up the regular season with a "home-and-home" against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday and Sunday at the Globe Arena in Stockholm. Both games will be at 2:30 p.m. ET, with Ottawa designated the home team for Saturday's opener.
The four forward lines at practice on Monday were as follows:
