Maybe in some silly way, it makes sense that the man with three names is the "man" right now in the Edmonton Oilers’ three-goalie system..

Edmonton's No. 1 netminder was supposed to be Mathieu Garon or Dwayne Roloson; not the third man on the depth chart, Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers.

A second-round pick in the 2002 draft, Drouin-Deslauriers finished his junior career with Chicoutimi before moving onto the AHL, spending 149 games in the minors. Until this season, that is.

Deslauriers signed a one-way deal this summer and with the fear of losing the netminder on waivers, Edmonton suddenly had an extra goalie. Well, extra extra, read all about it: the Oilers have an emerging story between the pipes.

Deslauriers gave the Oilers an idea of what he could do with a 26-save performance in his debut against Calgary. He stole the show again in New Jersey and New York: 37 saves against the Devils and then 40 against the Rangers. Not to mention three more after that in the shootout. Three starts, three wins.

For Deslauriers, this isn't the first time he's played in Edmonton. The 24-year old was with Road Runners during the lockout. No one may have known who he was then, but now Oilers fans are starting to recognize his name -- all three of them.
