Ryan Shannon will play alongside Dany Heatley and Jason Spezza tonight when he makes his Ottawa Senators debut against the New York Islanders.
Shannon was called up to the club on Wednesday, after forward Jarkko Ruutu was suspended for two games.
The Senators front office believes that Shannon has been the best forward on the AHL club so far this season and head coach Craig Hartsburg wanted to put him in a situation where he could be successful tonight. Antoine Vermette, who was skating on the top line for the past two weeks, will play alongside Chris Kelly and Shean Donovan.
Nick Foligno will skate with Dean McAmmond and Chris Neil. The Sens most productive line lately - the trio of Daniel Alfredsson, Mike Fisher and Jesse Winchester - remains intact.
