Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo spoke to the media for the first time Sunday since injuring his groin earlier in the week, saying that he will not be back on the ice until he feels 100 percent.

"It wasn't feeling like it was supposed to be feeling so I made a decison not to continue to practice because I didn't want to make (my groin) worse. I'll be off the ice until I am 100 percent. (At this point) I'm week-to-week" said Luongo.

There had been speculation Luongo could play this weekend. But the Canuck captain left Wednesday's practice after only 20 minutes.

"It's tough to say with injuries, especially for myself. This is the first time I've dealt with a groin injury and just when I thought I was ready to get back into it my groin was telling me something else. It's learn as you go (for me)", said Luongo.

The all-star goalie was scheduled to accompany the team to Edmonton, where the Canucks lost 3-0 on Saturday, but remained at home instead.

Luongo strained his groin Nov. 22 in Pittsburgh. The Canucks have a 16-10-3 record for 35 points in the Northwest Division, but are 3-4-1 since Luongo's injury.

Luongo has a 11-5-2 record, 2.17 goals against average and .926 save percentage. He also has five shutouts this season.
