The executive board for the National Hockey League Players' Association has voted 30-0 in favour of not reopening the current collective bargaining agreement, Sportsnet has learned.

A conference call was held Thursday between NHLPA executive director Paul Kelly and the 30 player representatives -- one from each NHL club -- to discuss the results of an NHLPA survey of its 720-player membership and take a final vote.

A clause in the current CBA allows the NHLPA to terminate the deal in the fourth year of the agreement. However, it's believed the players do not want to risk another lockout or strike given the uncertainty of the economy.

The six-year CBA was agreed upon in July 2005 and runs until September 2011. In addition to the out clause, the NHLPA also has the option of extending the deal one year through the 2011-2012 season.
