The Dallas Stars will know on Tuesday whether Brad Richards needs surgery on his broken right wrist.

Regardless of what the doctor reveals the team will likely lose the centre's services for six to eight weeks. Richards suffered the injury in the Stars' 3-2 shootout win over Columbus Monday night when he was hit into the boards by Jakub Voracek. Richards had scored earlier in the game, just 27 seconds into the first period. The second-year Stars forward has 16 goals and 48 points in 55 games this season.
