Calgary billionaire Brett Wilson has a handshake agreement in place to buy shares of the Nashville Predators.

Wilson said the deal has not been signed and "the league still has to approve some nuances of what we’re doing."

Predators majority owner David Freeman has made a bid to a bankruptcy trustee to buy a 27 per cent stake in the club. Wilson’s purchase would be through Freeman.

Wilson has met with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and the league is doing due diligence on his participation through Freeman.
