Anaheim Ducks GM Bob Murray informed Chris Pronger and his agent Pat Morris his intention is not to move the all-star defenceman at the deadline, according to Sportsnet sources.
With the uncertainty over whether Scott Niedermayer will retire after this season, it's believed Murray will hold off making further decisions on Pronger until the draft in Montreal in June.
With Pronger off the market, the most high-profile defenceman who could move before the NHL's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline Wednesday is Panthers' Jay Bouwmeester, who has not signed an extension with Florida.
Other players the subject of trade rumours include veterans Bill Guerin of the Islanders and Keith Tkachuk of the Blues, Senators Chris Neil and Filip Kuba, and left-wingers Erik Cole of the Oilers and Christopher Higgins of the Canadiens.
