Edmonton Oilers defenceman Ladislav Smid was feeling much better Sunday morning than he did after a nasty collision with Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nikolai Kulemin on Saturday night.
Smid wanted to return during the Oilers 4-1 victory but doctors kept him off the ice after he suffered a mild concussion. Smid told Sportsnet he felt like a boxer who got knocked out only to wake up with his nose and mouth bleeding.
It was a little hard for Smid to breathe but he still rode the exercise bike Sunday and he is expected to play Tuesday in Montreal.
The defenceman feels much better this time around then he did after suffering a more serious concussion on November 5th against Columbus that caused him to miss seven games.
