A Swedish web site is reporting that both players are asking for 12-year, $63 million contracts, but Sportsnet has learned the number may be closer to $64 million. When broken down, the per season figure works out to be $5.33 million per player. The lengthy deal is similar to that of fellow Swede Henrik Zetterberg, who inked a 12-year deal in January worth $73 million.
Daniel, a left-winger, scored 31 goals and 51 assists last season, while Henrik, a centre, had 22 goals and 60 assists for an identical 82-point campaign.
