Flames sign Sjostrom

Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today the signing of forward Fredrik Sjostrom.
"Freddie is a reliable two way player", said Sutter. "We are happy to add him to our group as we identify him as a player who plays our style of game."
Sjostrom, a native of Fargelanda, Sweden, was an original first round draft selection (11th overall) of the Phoenix Coyotes in 2001. He was acquired by the Rangers on February 26, 2008. In 358 career NHL games, he has recorded 88 points from 41 goals and 47 assists. The 6"1", 217 lbs right winger played two season with the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL.
