Will Joe Sakic's retirement open the door for another forward to join Team Canada's summer training camp?
"We have no plans right now to add anybody," said Team Canada executive director Steve Yzerman.
Sakic retired Thursday after an illustrious 20-year NHL season during which he won two Stanley Cups. He was also a superb international star, helping Canada win the gold medal in men's hockey at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. He was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Jason Spezza of the Ottawa Senators was a surprise omission from the summer camp roster.
